Sensory Play at Home: Moon Sand

While many young children are missing their preschool’s sensory-rich activity options, some families are seeking sensory play at home. Preschoolers thrive when using their senses. And G is no exception.

So his parents filled a sensory table with “moon sand.”  Combining flour and baby oil creates a satisfying texture that changes as you squeeze, shape and play with it.

Now G gets to drive his trucks through the sand making roads along the way. While G still misses HFP’s play yard with it’s giant sandbox, ride upon diggers and climbing structures, he doesn’t have to miss out on engrossing sensory play.

Thanks to Theresa for sharing photos and the Moon sand recipe.
